An ode to fairy tales!

Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten. Not because you can imagine but because what is real was imagined first.

And childhood for me meant indulging in magical castles built of air, of tales of prince and princesses, of the dark woods, of houses made of candy, of flying broomsticks, of a wardrobe that could briefly transport us into an era 100 years ago, of the tooth fairy and godmothers.. of stories whose possibilities were limitless.

Movies told me what to think. The books let me choose a few thoughts for myself. The movies showed me the candy house. The book told me there is a house in the rugged woods and let me paint some of the finishing touches, choose the roof style, and the color of the walls. When there was a dark twist, and knew that it is going to be a tragedy; I could feel the cold and darkness coming, see the net drawing tight around the characters who live and breathe on the pages. I lived the life of every character. I believed in happy endings and still do.

The tales of the world, far and beyond showed me that possibilities are endless only if you choose to believe that the extraordinary exists and you seek hard to find them. However unrealistic they seem, they gave meaning to the words - Faith, Hope, Love and Friendship.

Our lives are the stories that have been written by us humans, through our own experiences of living, and are indeed fairy tales only if we choose to make it one, and live as one!

Far, far away is not so far away after all! Are you living your dream as yet?
